Avionics Systems Technician Guidance and Control, ComNav and Fire Control, A-10 and KC-135 Staff Sargent

Repairs, rebuilds, overhauls, installs and modifies electronic integrated systems on A-10 aircraft. Troubleshoots electronic systems. Uses Electronic Schematic Drawings. Uses tools of the trade. Uses diagnostic and testing equipment. Applies electronic theories and practices to identify, isolate and repair malfunctions on the A-10 aircraft for the following Systems(4.5 yrs), Guidance and Control, Flight and Engine Instruments, UHF/VHF communication and direction finding, Ground Collision Avoidance(GCAS), Turbine Engine Monitoring(TEMS), Embedded GPS/INS (EGI), ILS, Heads Up Display, TACAN and Fire control. Uses knowledge of the principles of digital and analog circuits, devices, solid state devices theory, digital techniques, synchro/servo operation and integrated circuit theory as well as interpret and trace schematic, logic and wiring diagrams and use a wide variety of test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment, to locate and complete repairs on above systems(4.5 yrs). Serves as assistant Technical order librarian for Avionics Flight demonstrating knowledge of the Technical Order System (2.5 yrs). Knowledgeable in Guidance and Control Systems, Fire-Control and Communication/Navigation systems. Tool control NCO in charge of mission systems shop's tools. Held Top Secret clearance and remained good health per standards of the PA Air National Guard.

Uses the following test equipment on a regular basis in the completion of duties: Fluke 8025B digital Mulitmeter, Several different Oscilloscopes, MTS-100 Tacan Ramp Tester, Time Domain Reflectometer (TDR), TTU-205J Pitot-Static Test set, T30CM ILS Field Tester, ARM-184 Tacan Test set, AN/APM-424 Transponder Test Set, Numerous Torque Wrenches, MIWK1 &2 Wire Maintenance Kit, Portable Automated Test Set(PATS), SAS Breakout box, J1 J2, TV Monitor Maverick Missile Interface Test Set, TGM-65A Aux Missile System Test Box, AN/ASM-184 Missile Wiring and Ckt Test Set, Fuel Quantity System "GULL" Tester.  Considered "Subject Matter Expert" on the TEMS and Fuel Quantity Indicating Systems by supervision and peers and consistently instructs other technicians in the troubleshooting and repair of them. Uses knowledge of the principles of digital and analog circuits, devices, solid state devices theory, digital techniques, synchro servo operation and integrated circuit theory as well as interpret and trace schematic, logic and wiring diagrams and use a wide variety of test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment, to locate and complete repairs on above systems. Establishes and provides comprehensive troubleshooting and repair procedures. Knowledgeable in Guidance and Control Systems, Fire-Control and Communication/Navigation systems. Troubleshoots and tests all above systems with no guidance. Tool control NCO in charge of mission systems shop's tools. Supervises 4 Guardsman in above listed functions. Safeguards, maintains and utilizes classified material. Certifies aircraft for flight, following maintenance procedures and repair actions. Provides technical assistance and hands-on training to lower graded personnel or newly assigned personnel. Requisitions, processes and accounts for supply assets within the repairable processing system. Documents and certifies all aircraft forms. Ensures all maintenance actions are entered in a computer based tracking system. 14 years of experience testing, troubleshooting, modifying, repairing, overhauling and installing electronic integrated systems and equipment, knowledge of electronics equipment, assembly, installation, repair, overhaul, calibration, modification and alignment. Uses extensive knowledge of electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical systems to predict the progressive effects of malfunctions throughout interrelated units and also correct these malfunctions. Proficient at reading and interpreting electronics diagrams and schematics. Maintains test and measurement instruments as well as general and special purpose tools and equipment necessary for use in the performance of fulfilling the mission. Revamped and maintain the Wing's vinyl and laser graphics area and program. Document in computerized databases as well as in aircraft forms and equipment records all work performed as required by applicable technical orders and manufacturer's specifications. Co-responsible for a technical order library account including technical orders, publications, messages, CPINS and various computer programs of over 400 volumes. Provide in-shop training to traditional guardsmen and fellow technicians in the form of OJT, semi-formal and formal classes, devising new and improved methods by which training occurs as necessary. Document training in individuals' training records and constantly monitor status of upgrade training for each individual. Ensure continued compliance with all fire, safety, housekeeping and security regulations within the shop and work areas. Skilled at troubleshooting malfunctioned circuits and components. Accomplished NCO and studied leader and manager with 10 years of military and civilian leadership and impeccable references. Has current Secret clearance and is in good health per standards of the PA Air National Guard.
